Highlights Storybooks from Bamboo boosts kids’ reading and listening comprehension through interactive Highlights professionally narrated stories. Highlights’ unique approach to “Fun with a Purpose” helps engage children through entertaining stories, while also promoting skills that help lead to success in school – and beyond!
• Basic Use (How it works)
Children and parents can start the skill by asking Alexa to “Open Highlights Storybooks.” They then can select a reading exercise level and story. A friendly narrator begins reading selections from the storybook. After each narration, children are asked questions about the story, which they can verbally answer. Alexa identifies whether the answer is correct or incorrect.
Navigation tips:
Say “Alexa, open Highlights Storybooks” to open skill
Say “Level 1”, “Level 2”, or “Level 3” to change difficulty
Say “Switch Books” to change story
Say “Give me a Hint” to get a hint
Say “Alexa, stop” to exit

• Bamboo Grove (Optional Parent Portal) & Account Linking
Registration on Bamboo Grove provides results about how children are progressing, so parents can understand their strengths and areas for development & view badges awarded. Parents can register for a FREE Bamboo Learning account on Bamboo Grove at grove.bamboolearning.com.
After signing up for a Bamboo Learning account, parents need to link that account with the Highlights Storybooks Alexa skill by opening the Alexa App (or going to alexa.amazon.com) and then search for Highlights Storybooks within the skills section of the Alexa App. After finding Highlights Storybooks in the Alexa App, select “Settings”, and then “Link Account”. A Bamboo Learning screen will appear. Sign in to the Bamboo Learning account and Highlights Storybook will be linked. Then visit Bamboo Grove at grove.bamboolearning.com to view progress.
