Add Alexa to The Shade Store’s motorized window treatments for easy voice control. Simple commands allow you to raise and lower your shades, tilt your blinds, or draw your drapery. Individual treatments, groupings of treatments, and user determined “scenes” can all be pre-programmed for instant access to your favorite positions. You will need a Wi-Fi Bridge (purchasable through The Shade Store) along with The Shade Store app (available for free in the Apple App and Google Play stores). The Shade Store Wi-Fi Bridge must be set-up and configured before enabling the Alexa skill. Name your shades and scenes in the The Shade Store app exactly how you plan to reference them with voice commands (Turn On, Turn Off, Set to X%).
Here are some examples of how you can control your shades:
To enable groups of window treatments, Rooms will need to be generated in the Alexa app through the Smart Home/ Groups menu options. To lower individual shades, groups, and scenes of shades use the “Turn On” command in Alexa; Example: “Alexa, TURN ON Living Room Shade”. To raise individual shades or groups of shades use the “Turn Off” command in Alexa; Example: “Alexa, TURN OFF Living Room Shade”. To set to individual shades or groups of shades to a partial height use the “set” command along with the desired coverage percentage in Alexa; Example: To set an individual shade a quarter of the way down, simply say “Alexa, set Living Room Shade to 25%”.
