This idea came from Amazon Alexa UK Users Facebook regular, Mike Guest, who noted that the current day, date and time isn't announced when you ask Alexa for a Flash Briefing. Seems like an obvious thing to include - so here it is (thanks for the inspiration, Mike!).
For a few days, this skill also included the time and whether the date was a public holiday. Unfortunately, both pieces of functionality have had to be removed due to the way Amazon hosts code. Sorry about that, folks. You can stop the one-star reviews now, because it's no longer listed functionality.
~Usage~
* Simply enable the skill, and it will be added to your flash briefing the next time you say, "Alexa, what's new?" or "Alexa, what's my flash briefing?"
