The Ion® System Control skill for Amazon Alexa, you can now interact with your My Ion™ System Control by voice command to control your home comfort system using your Amazon Alexa device.
To get started, select the “Enable Skill” button in the Alexa App to link your www.IonComfort.com account (using your previously selected username and password for this account) and discover your system(s).
When using the skill, you need to specify by name, which system, and if applicable, which zones within systems, to use. Note that all names of systems and zones within an account must be unique (duplicate names will cause confusion within the Alexa interface).
• Use the system and/or zone name(s) that you set up already – these are shown in the Ion mobile app (touch the system name at the top of the Main screen to see and access all of the systems and zones set up for that account)
• System names can be changed within the www.IonComfort.com Consumer Portal (go to My Locations > Edit System > System Name > input the new name > Save System)
• Zone names can be changed within the My Ion mobile app (select a system from the drop down menu at the top of the Main > touch Menu > Zone Names > select the Zone(s) to rename > follow the screen prompts to save the names)
If you have already linked a My Ion account with Amazon Alexa and you wish to link a different My Ion account with Alexa, perform the following steps:
1. Logout of your My Ion account. (go to www.IonComfort.com and select Logout)
2. Disable the Ion® System Control skill within the Alexa app. (go to Skills > Your Skills > Ion® System Control > Disable).
3. Enable the Ion® System Control skill in the Alexa app. (go to Skill > Search for Ion® System Control > Enable > Input the My Ion Account username and password you wish to link)
