Kings over Aces is a game of risk and reward, based on the playing card guessing game Higher or Lower. It also contains elements of TV shows such as Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.
This skill is a FINALIST in the #AmazonAlexaMultimodalChallenge !
Gameplay is straightforward. You are dealt playing cards one at a time, and you must guess whether the next card is higher or lower than the previous one.
Sounds simple enough, doesn't it? But there are traps to catch the unwary (and the unlucky).
Keep the following in mind:
1. Suits all have the same value 2. Card values in increasing order of value are: Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King 3. If you forget the above, the clue is in the name: Kings OVER Aces ! 4. If you guess wrongly, the game ends 5. If you get two same-value cards in succession (two tens for instance), the game ends 6. If you get a Joker, the game ends
Scoring
You receive one point each time you guess correctly. Points for the current game are lost when the game ends.
You can save your score at any point by saying Save Score. BUT… this ends the game, so if you have a great score, you need to decide whether to be greedy or safe. Push on and see how high you can go, or save a new Personal Best.
